Description
Emma Woodhouse imagines that she dominates those around her in the small town of Highbury, but her matchmaking creates problems for herself and others; a passionate young woman takes a job at Thornfield, an old house with a moody master and a demented third-floor tenant; a pair of half sisters get caught up in a conspiracy involving a mentally ill woman dressed in white; a drifter and a woman who has been accused of witchcraft are thrown together before their execution; an awkward teenager struggles to find her true self in the midst of a disastrous love affair.
